43g wheat bran (or other types of flour)
30g egg whites
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
sweetener (I use 1 tsp SØD liquid no-calorie sweetener)
1 tbsp sojaprotein (or other protein powder)
optional: 20g almonds
Combine oats and water (you can use milk if preferred) and let it sit for about ten minutes.
If adding almond use this pause to finely chopped them (I cut the almonds in little sticks)
Afterwards stir in the other ingredients.
Bake the pancakes on a non-stick pan until lightly browned, flipping the pancake over when it has firmed up.
Makes 9 regular sized pancakes, 44g each (un-cooked), at 35 kcal (45 kcal if using almonds).
Originally I made the pancakes without slivered almond and they taste really good this way. Adding almonds gives a nice crunch which I like, but really I just added them as I need to gain weight and they up the calories a bit. I still suggest using almonds for a nicer texture (they’re still pretty low in calories this way).
